Two MindSphere World Working Groups shine with innovative results. The working group "Business Processes and Models" has just successfully developed the basic principles for the design of IIoT business models and processes based on MindSphere. The working group "Shared Data Pools" has again succeeded in developing a detailed framework for the creation of shared data pools for AI Apps.
The workshop of the MindSphere World Working Group "Business Processes and Models" with innovators from the banking and insurance industry, consulting firms and companies from the mechanical and plant engineering sector started with a short review of previous results of the Working Group on concrete IIoT application cases in mechanical and plant engineering. This time, however, the aim was to develop generally applicable elements of business models that contribute to successful IIoT business cases. In focus: the magic triangle "customer - resource - business" in the context of the payment model "pay-per-use". After intensive discussion of the relevant elements for these three categories, essential process steps for the introduction of a "pay-per-use" business model were identified. The result: a pragmatic basis and structure for the development and implementation of IIoT business models with a "pay-per-use" focus. The team is now looking forward to the next round of talks with high motivation. This is expected to take place in September 2019 at Deutsche Bank's head office in Frankfurt.
In its second workshop, the "Shared Data Pools" working group with experts from the plant construction and mechanical engineering sectors created the Framework Shared Data Pools for AI Apps. Not only the roles and participants for the data pool ecosystem were defined, but also a model of the individual phases with to-dos, responsibilities, detailed phase descriptions and core legal aspects. The final part is made up of various contractual scenarios showing the interaction of roles and participants.
